Regenauld checked his storage. $700,000 as his disposal. He knew he had to get into the elite shop. He kept asking himself "How..Could I really do it? Could I REALLY get top survivor?!" He walked to the market place. Wondering. Hoping. "It could happen...Maybe.." Checking the price of grinders he almost lost hope. $350,000 for a good grinder. Half of his savings. Another $100,000 for a stat-reset. "Is the risk of $450,000 worth it?" Regenauld asked himself.
Sunday, September 6th. $550,000 later(Regenauld was STUPID and only put 40str instead of 50 for a grinder and had to buy 200more credits). He was ready to embark on his most epic adventure ever. Top Survivor. He knew it would be a hard week. He knew the chance of surviving 168hours, 7days in longarm section was suicide. He lifted up his right sleeve, glancing as his tattoo. His family crest. The Cronin Crest. "Fortes Fortuna Juvat" Fortune Helps the Brave. "I have to try.." he told himself. He slowly slid his hand along his amputator, almost caressing it. Carefully checked his Grinder to be sure it had fuel(hope) and was working properly. Taking apart and re-assembling the K-50M Trained 2 Kill loaned him. 1500 rounds was all he could carry for the light machine gun. He needed the space for food. Carefully he packed his backpack with $40,000 worth of food. Sliding on his Lr8 Reactive he quickly checked his weapons once more. Amputator as his back, K-50M slung across his chest and the Grinder in hand.
0500 Hours September 7th Regenauld was on his way. Leaving his brothers in the Marines behind. A General leaving his troops. Quietly but quickly running from shadow to shadow along the building. Ducking in and out of cars to avoid the zombies. He could smell his own stench as he ran in the dark alleys. The sweat running out of every pour on his body. From exhaustion or fear. It didn't matter. Hearing the moans of the zombies from all around him but seeing none. He just kept moving. His destination was 43blocks away. The most deserted, barren parts of Fairview. The Northeast section, Longarm territory.
Hours of running and hiding. Picking only the safest moments to emerge and advance. He finally arrived in a public bathroom in Ecclesham. With two sets of toilets issolating a corner, it was the perfect spot for him to grind. He barriacded the door and outposted. Slowly eating his Cooked Caviar and sipping his Red Wine Regenauld thought to himself "What am I doing here..I'm not good enough to do this. I'm only level 50" He gagged on his caviar. The smell of urine and shit got into his food and had spoiled it. Taking a long swig of his Red Wine he was ready. To start slaughtering zombies, the good old fashioned way.
Standing up and pulling out the Amputator he hacked away at the barricade. The bathroom was suddenly filled with zombies. Longarm after longarm! Fat reds! They were everywhere!! Stuck in his corner, revving the grinder and shoving the chainsaw into zombie after zombie! He wondered if he could ever live a life without violence. Where there didn't have to be killing. The thought quickly vanished as he enjoyed slaughtering zombies. It was truly his favorite past time and joy in life. What else was there to do after all?
2000 Hours September 7th the horde had ceased(14hours later, 1,300,000 exp. later). He quickly re-barricaded the door with Grinder in hand. As he hammered the last nail home he took a sigh of relief. "One down, seven to go.." he quietly thought as outposted once more. "Never give up. NEVER surrender! A death in the battlefield is the GREATEST glory a spartan can achieve!" runs through his mind. He is a Marine. The Spartans of the present-day.
2100 Hours September 23rd Regenauld lays down his grinder once more after a 14 hour day of grinding. Three days he had been there. 42 Hours of grinding, 4,580,000 experience later. He sits down as a level Doctor. Pulling out N-2 he quietly administers it to himself. Enjoying the quiet peace. Hoping. Just hoping it lasts until his meal is over, maybe even fall asleep in the soft silence. As soon as he oped the bottle of Red Wine he hears them outside. Moaning and moaning for a meal. Or perhaps. They just want a big hug. Regardless. His peace was over. He would have to listen to them as he east his meal and rests after a hard day of grinding.
0900 Hours September 25th Regenauld wakes up with a big yawn. Going to pick up his chainsaw, he realized he was too tired to lift it. His arms too sore. Instead he waited. He had gotten a message to a friend back at Nastya's he was in need of food. He was running low and would pay cash for supplies. Around 2200 Hours peeking out his window, Regenauld could see another survivor in the distance. The man made his way to the barricaded bathroom. It was Subrandom. With $40,000 worth of food. Regenauld could not believe his eyes and quickly paid the man and started feasting on the food before it stunk of urine and shit. Regenauld enjoyed the company while it lasted. Talking about the recent OA's and the other survivor and the NATO clan. He was curious what has happened while he was gone. "Your clan misses you Regeanuld. You have been gone for four days now. They were wondering if you were even still alive. I'll let them know you're alright. Goodluck Regenauld." Subrandom said as he left the safety of the bathroom.
***Regenauld wakes up. Looks at his watch and its 2000 Hours September 25th. He is back at Nastya's with a load of credits at his feet. 12000 credits total. "HOLY SHIT" he yells! He quickly find Trained 2 Kill, Subrandom and Andrew. Suddenly every has become rich some how, some way. Nobody can explain such things. They all head to the market and buy everything they ever wanted. Godcrafting everything in sight. The four set out on a journey to Death Row. Killing every zombie in sight. With 15,000 ammo each at the very least. Andrew with a perfect USAS. Subrandom with a renamed godcrafted VSS Vintorez. T2k and Regenauld each with godcrafted GAU's. Nothing stood a chance. The four arrived in a bathroom in Longarm territory to get themselves together. They couldn't actually believe what was happening. Once collected the four survivors left the bathroom. Subrandom vanishing from sight. Leaving Andrew, T2k and Regenauld to slaughter zombies. After what seemed like hours of easy slaughter the survivors went out on their own. Each embarking on a journey to find behemoths and green LA's. This was truly an amazing day. It was Gods way of saying "I do exist. Sorry for the zombies"***
0900 Hours Regenauld awakes holding his head. Trying to figure out what happened. Where was he? Where was his GAU? His last memory was being covered in blood and guts side by side with T2k slaughtering LA's. What had happened? When suddenly he put his hand to hid head and pulled it away, his hand covered in blood. Realizing he must have slipped and hit his head. Only imagining having a GAU-19. Only dreaming of it really happening....After a long sigh, he decided to get back to work on his goal at hand. Top Survivor.
0100 Hours September 26th he lays down his grinder from the previous day. 16 Hours and 3,000,00 experience later. For the fifth day of grinding. "I can't take much more of this" he said over and over. "I just can't do it.."
1000 Hours September 26th Regenauld starts it all over again. 1,100,000 experience later. Level 62. The horde ceases one final time. Regenauld re-barricades. Through a series of complicated letters, he learns that MaFaHai has died. One less survivor he has to worry about stealing his spot. Quickly learning that Xander is 2,300,000 experience behind and only planning on obatining 400,000 more. Regenauld knows he has sealed his spot as Top Survivor. All he has to do- Safely return home. To his clan and brother Marines. A Survivor. Top Survivor. Regenauld lays his head down in peace, not hearing the moans of the zombies. He is too at peace knowing he has done it.
1200 Hours September 27th. Waking to the moaning sounds outside. Regenauld knows what he must do. He downs a bottle of Red Wine and stands up. Checks his weapons once before leaving for Nastya's. He pulls out his trusty amputator and cuts down the barricade. Immediately sprinting outside. He sees eight sprinting longarms and considers himself lucky. Afterall, there could be thirty of them. He quickly sprints south a block, checks his map, and heads on. Fighting hordes after horde of zombies Regenaulds moves on. Eventually he quits seeing longarms and starts finding purple zombies. No longer is the horde after him. The aggro has gone down to almost nothing. Seeing only two or three zombies a block Regenauld knows he is in the clear. An easy stroll back to Nastya's.
2000 Hours September 27th Regenauld reaches Nastya's. The safe haven. Glad to be back he immediately heads to his clan building. Everybody erupts with applause, congratulating him on returning home safe. They refer to him as "Survivor of The Week" Once everybody is back to their own thing Regenauld looks at his trusty Raging Bull. Knowing he has to sell it. He walks to the market to look for any offers and quickly sells the massive pistol. $835,000 for the killing machine. Looking at this massive pile of cash, Regenauld gets a huge smile knowing he will be rewarded the next day. He returns to his barracks to find the others are sound asleep. Quietly making his way to his bed he has a huge sigh of relief. Its over. He is Top Survivor of the Week of 9/5/09.
